I’ve visited Captain Gregory’s three times over the past three years and it is by far the best speakeasy experience in the DC area! The drinks are fantastic - delicious and true works of art. The service is impeccable and the vibe is perfect for a romantic date night or nice relaxing chat with a friend. The quality far exceeds the speakeasies and cocktail bars I’ve visited in DC, which often charge a higher price. If I lived closer, I’d be here all the time. 100/10 would recommend!

ABSOUTLEY LOVE CAPTAIN GREGORYS! I had no idea what to expect because I didn’t do too much research on the place. Just saw that a friend had posted about it and suddenly, I craved the drink she featured on her story. This place is located inside Railbird kitchen…but as a speak easy behind a wall! You ring the doorbell and you’re greeted by a kind doorman who shows you to your table. YOU NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION and each seating is for 1 hr and 45 mins. You also pay a fee to reserve your spot, but it’s only 3$, which goes towards these delicious doughnuts at the end for dessert ? Did you know Captain Gregory invented the doughnut?! I would recommend eating before coming because their food menu is very small, but the drinks are the real star ? of the show! They are all handcrafted and made with a heavy fist. I was feeling just right by the time we left ? CG’S is a must!

Love this place immensely! I have been here multiple times for different menus. The aesthetic is on point, the customer service is very attentive and informative, and the drinks I’ve had have been curated to such great flavor profiles. Love hidden ACTUAL speakeasy vibes where you pull on the rope and greeted by a hidden door disguised as part of the wall to make way for your date night hot spot.

Captain Gregory’s is a small speakeasy with amazing cocktails. The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable, and detailed oriented. We ordered drinks off of the menu for our first round and second round we asked the bartender to be creative. All were amazing!

This place was really laid back. Brandon, the mixologist, had a great attitude and kept us engaged at the bar. The place has about 4 two seat tables, 3 three- four seat tables and about 8 bar stools...so reservations are strongly suggested. It's a speak easy, so it has a 'secret' entrance which leads from a busy kitchen to a dimly lit, nicely decorated area. The drinks are GOOD and the food choices were small plates, which was nice.

Drinks were fantastic, food dishes were good, but some fries or such with the wagyu burgers would've helped, they were good, but not as filling as hoped. I'd suggest this as a great place to come after having had dinner elsewhere, or a heavier lunch earlier. Focus is definitely on the mixology and the vibe. Music was also a little louder than I prefer, and sensitive people might want to have earbuds to cut it a little, but not that bad.

Our favorite local bar. We come with friends for the cocktail classes with Brandon every few months—always an awesome time. Love the tiki theme and am an OG tiki fiend from Cali. It’s nice to have a great spot away from home. They also have a good selection or are happy to make NA cocktails for my husband who is a teetotaler.

Make sure you read the fine print on the Resy reservation. It is a $5 tax per person just to go there. Drinks were good, but they are $25 per drink good.
