What an awesome, hidden gem! Met up with some new friends at a "chill" lounge/bar and could not have been more impressed. Justin, the bartender, made absolutely fantastic drinks, was super personable, and one of the best people I've ever met when it comes to taking care of customers. Mac, the manager, was her own kind of special. I so enjoyed talking to her while just hanging out at Back Door. She was so sweet! You could tell she genuinely cared about her staff and her customers, which is exactly the kind of place I want to spend my time (and money lol).
Their Pride drink specials were delicious, the food from Laziz was phenomenal- definitely try the falafel!!- and the vibe was everything you could want if you're looking to hang out and talk to friends in a comfy, welcoming environment, but still get to interact and meet new people. If you're in SLC, check it out!!

Speak-easy feel with eclectic Italian disco music overhead (from bartender's personal playlist). Cocktails - well crafted. The grape leaves were delicious. Great place for a cozy date!

We came in three nights in a row while visiting Salt Lake City. Everything we had was amazing from the drinks (we tried almost every single one) and the food. The dolmas were warm and delicious. The fries were hot and flavorful. The cauliflower was scrumptious. The only downside was when we came in on 4/4/23 the bartender/server was very unfriendly. He didn’t greet us, barely explained the menu when we asked questions and ignored us the rest of the time and we were the only ones in the bar.

Formerly Mortar and Pestle, the Back Door is an amazing little gem tucked on Franklin Ave. The newest Laziz location is opening this coming week in the front half of the building, with the Back Door Lounge in the back half. You can sit and order unique cocktails (I tried one that tasted like Pho and it was ?) as well as order bites from Laziz. Very vibey and fun spot.

A funky little bar tucked away on Edison St. with a relaxed, cozy, intimate atmosphere. A great place to chill with some friends or someone special. You can order food from Laziz Kitchen (Modern Mediterranean). It's in the heart of a vibrant area between 200 S and 300 S that is expanding with bars, restaurants, cafes, etc.

I had the good fortune of coming to Back Door twice in one week on a visit from New York, & I can honestly say I’m going to long for this place. The ambience is chic yet comfy, the drinks are expertly conceived & executed—but best of all is the service. McKenzie (Mac) & her gorgeous crew took great care of us ❤️‍?

Drinks are extremely overpriced for salt lake cocktails, which are conservative pours to begin with. After tip, an old fashioned will ran $20. You can get the same next door at Franklin ave for $15.

Darling speakeasy located behind the new Laziz on Edison in SLC. Lots of cocktails and mocktails in their cozy luxe space with the bonus of amazing food from Laziz.
