My favorite book club, the place that showed me that not all cocktails are created equal. The place that got me hooked on old fashions. But don’t settle for any old fashioned, Try the vanilla saffron old fashioned and you’ll be amazed. I travel all over the west coast and have tried many cocktail bars. ever since I tried this place a year ago I’ve been chasing the dragon and nothing else compares. Ben keeps it real and happily guides you through his menu and will even make suggestions based on your preference. Everything he suggests is amazing, the prices are great, and the selection is fantastic. Whenever I’m in Spokane I make it a point to stop at my favorite book club.

I loved the speakeasy theme of this bar. The atmosphere was relaxed and cool. The craft cocktails were delicious. I highly recommend one of their signature drinks, painkiller. Another cool feature of the place is that the front entrance of the bar is set-up to resemble a bookstore, and then behind the book cases is the bar. It really invokes that true speakeasy feel.

This used to be an amazing bar. The place has a great atmosphere, and Ben and Zach are two of the best bartenders I know of. That being said, the business seems to be suffering financially, and the owner has returned to "fix" things. You'll be able to tell who he is because he's rude, consistently drunk, and rushes people out of their booths for the sake of turning a profit. Other bartenders around town have told me that this place is dying, and it seems to be true given how early it's been closing and how much the owner's been working recently. I used to love to support this place; however, now that I know who actually owns it, I'll never go back. Congrats to the owner on ruining a great spot.

Ben was the best bartender. His charisma and attention to detail was unlike anything I've seen. He created my friend a cocktail based on her fave flavors and an adjective. He is a wizard behind the bar!

Was in town for a conference. Went for a drink based on some advice from a fellow whiskey lover. Having never been to this bar I didn’t have any expectations. I was pleasantly surprised! This place was awesome in every way. The bartender, Ben, was outstanding and hilarious. I will be back for sure. Cool vibes, good whiskey, and great conversations abound in this little Spokane gem.

Cease and Desist, with its unassuming entrance marked by a bookshelf, instantly transported us from a bustling street corner into a cozy, welcoming hideaway. The drinks were nothing short of perfection, with the only challenge being deciding which of the menu’s offerings is the best.

We were lucky enough to have Ben as our bartender. It doesn’t take long to realize that he’s one of the most talented mixologists you’ll ever meet. If Cease and Desist were a real book club, you know it would be good—they'd only read banned books.
