We had a very nice experience at this bar. This was our first trip to Asheville and we definitely wanted to try out some of the rooftop bars. The staff was wonderful and engaged in good conversations.

Had some pricey drinks, but hey… we were on vacation!

Pillar is one of the best spots in Asheville to catch the sunset. The employees there are always friendly and fun to help add to your experience. The bartenders behind the bar have years of experience and can accommodate any and all of your cocktail needs, including delicious mocktails! Their small plates are perfect for a snack or to share, plus their chicken sandwich and pillar burger are delicious!!

It is a great place to hang out with friends. The drinks were delicious and creatively themed for the holidays. The atmosphere was amazing and perfectly captured the festive spirit from the moment I stepped off the elevator. The outdoor rooftop area was perfect for relaxing by the gas fireplace and enjoying the beautiful Asheville view. While it was a little crowded, it was a testament to the places popularity as a great hangout spot. ?

This was a lovely spot to watch the sunset with a drink and some munchies. My partner and I enjoyed the seasonal decorations and drinks, and the live music was really great!

Our main server was wonderful and very helpful, but another server did seem like he was trying to get us out of there very quickly, despite the fact that there were plenty of open tables both inside and out.

Would visit again!

I recently visited the Pillar Rooftop Bar in the Hilton Downtown Asheville, NC, and overall, I would give it a 4-star rating. The highlight of this bar is definitely its incredible view of downtown Asheville and the breathtaking backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The atmosphere is vibrant, thanks to the live band, full bar, and the stylish arrangement of furniture.

However, I must admit that the food selection left something to be desired. The crabcake, in particular, was a disappointment, especially coming from Maryland where we have high expectations for this dish. Additionally, the BBQ shrimp wrapped in bacon was served cold and covered in a generic brand of BBQ sauce, which was not up to par.

On the bright side, the cocktail menu stole the show. Every drink had a unique and creative theme, making the ordering experience quite enjoyable. It's worth noting that the venue is pet-friendly, which was a pleasant surprise given the upscale decor. However, I did find it lacking in terms of a designated relief area for pets.

One minor drawback is that the immediate view of the downtown skyline is partially obstructed by the Buncombe County Courthouse and City offices. Nonetheless, the overall ambiance of the venue, coupled with the amazing cocktail menu, makes it a must-visit spot in Asheville.

I do plan on returning to Pillar Rooftop Bar to try their main menu, as the staff assured me that it surpasses the quality of their small plates.

The rooftop bar in the Hilton Downtown has a nice vibe and very interesting menu. If you don’t want to venture out, this spot makes it okay to stay in.

Beautiful rooftop view! Food was good. I had the plant burger, it was a kitty bit too salty, but nice tasting burger. Friend had fish n chips said they were very tasty! Drinks were ok . Service was excellent.

Good vibe. Sit inside, or outside at the fire pit. Live music with a DJ spinning hip sounds. The dinner menu had ample variety to appeal to everyone including kids. Knowledgeable, experienced bar tender. Friendly, conversational while multitasking. Recommend!
